1 dead, 3 hurt in Atlanta transit station shooting

The spokesman said the shooting occured while the train was traveling eastbound.

MARTA spokesperson Erik Burton said in a statement that the suspected shooter was taken into custody.

According to a statement from Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, the shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the West Lake station, located at 80 Anderson Avenue SW.

One person was killed, while three others were wounded, according to authorities, in the incident on the Blue Line.

Shortly after the bursts, Caleb saw a number of people running from the train vehicle behind his family.

But I can understand why they were doing what they were doing because they couldn't clearly see", said Peterson. When we finally got it open, everybody was on us.

"I was waiting for a bang", he said. "The children were all I was thinking about", he said.
