In the official meeting with the Chinese President, Ivanka Trump's children, Arabelle and Joseph, serenaded Xi Jinping and his wife Madame Peng Liyuan with a Chinese song "Mo Li Hua" ( Jasmine Flower).

Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reports that President Trump has accepted President Xi's offer to visit China at an "early date".

In February, an Instagram video of the president's granddaughter performing a song she'd reportedly learned for Chinese New Year while holding a red Chinese dragon puppet garnered high praise from viewers in both China and the United States.

Trump has retweeted the video from his account to his 27 million followers.

This is by no means the first time Arabella has performed in mandarin.

Arabella also recited a Tang Dynasty poem, while little Joseph appeared shy at the end and clung to his father, Mr Jared Kushner.

In the 50-second clip, which was also shared by President Trump, Ivanka is heard telling their Chinese dignitaries: "We want to make you feel at home". She's known as "baifumei" which translates to white, rich, and lovely.

Trump met with the Chinese First Family on April 6 and 7 at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Although Trump and China had an icy start right after his induction into the White House, when he said that U.S. was not necessarily bound by the "One China" policy, which prompted a diplomatic protest from China. He called the country a "tremendous problem" and claimed that askew trade deals with China disadvantage American businesses and workers. Last week, the president tweeted that he expected his meeting with Mr Xi would be "very hard".
