Kendall Jenner's Pepsi protest ad prompts online backlash

Kendall Jenner's Pepsi protest ad prompts online backlash

The backlash over the Pepsi commercial was deafening, so much so, that the company pulled the advertisement and publicly apologised to Kendall Jenner and the public after their protest-heavy ad fell flat on its face.

A bunch of people must have thought the now-infamous Pepsi ad featuring Kendall Jenner was a great idea. A pair of stylish sunglasses are all that stand between our hero and the ignorant populace beholden to the status quo.

We then only hear his side of the conversation: "Uh-huh, sort of tone deaf?" he said.

"This song is the best thing about the frightful Pepsi ad", one viewer posted. The ad culminates with Jenner handing a Pepsi can to a police officer, who pops the top, takes a swig, and is met with inexplicable roars of approval from the marchers. Okay. Don't even show police?' he repeats back.

Don't be surprised if you don't see Kendall Jenner out and about for a bit. "Just run to my vehicle?"

Well, not quite - but Cecily Strong's Kendall Jenner, like, totally gets it. Watch the fully sketch below. I know! It's cute, right?'

Gov. Brown declares end to state's drought emergency
The rest of the state shouldn't forget water-saving strategies either. Brown said. "Conservation must remain a way of life".

'Can you put a neighbour on the phone?

In response to the criticism, Pepsi has pulled the advert and has released a statement admitting the firm "missed the mark" with the campaign's message.

While the ad does not make clear what the protest opposes - the only clues being peace signs and a background song with the lyrics "we are the movement this generation" - observers were quick to condemn it.

It said it was "removing the content and halting any further rollout".

"Kendall made a decision to prolong her stay in Europe after the Pepsi incident and has been hiding out in Paris recovering from her embarrassing career move", a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com.

It's been a long week for Kendall Jenner, who was the star of Pepsi's ill-fated commercial that was meant to promote harmony and instead led to massive Internet backlash that seemed like the worst case of backwash ever.
