First Alert Day: Strong cold front, storms to move in

The latest severe weather forecast from the National Weather Service indicates the line of storms should reach Dothan after 1 p.m. Embedded circulations and kinks along the squall line will require a watchful eye over them given the tornado threat.

Late Tuesday evening another chance for showers and thunderstorms returns across NW Arkansas and the River Valley.

As that second, more intense line moves through, strong to severe thunderstorms aren't out of the question. An isolated tornado can not be ruled out, but this is not likely. Right now, the area is under a slight risk for severe weather from the Storm Prediction center.

Child Abuse Prevention Month
Nationally over 900,000 " Pinwheels for Prevention " have been displayed since the program launched in 2008. Pinwheels are the symbol of National Child Abuse Prevention Month .

Much of the Florida Panhandle, from Escambia to Calhoun and Jackson counties, is under a tornado watch until 2 p.m.

We'll keep you updated throughout the afternoon and evening here at WBTV. Download our FREE weather app and make sure you have it set to use "MY LOCATION". What was once an ENHANCED risk is now a MODERATE risk for strong to severe storms.

Not only is tomorrow Monday...but it's also a First Alert Weather Day. Ahead of the main line, the potential for super-cell storms is there. A line of thunderstorms, or squall line, may follow these initial storms. This is part of a broader tornado watch that covers southeast and eastern Georgia.
