Sony dominates console market with 57% of global market share

Sony dominates console market with 57% of global market share

After more than a decade of being on sale, it seems as if Sony Interactive Entertainment is set to end the production of its PS3 console in Japan sometime soon.

It seems that the PS3 has been particularly successful in Japan, where it even managed to lap the PS4 during its first year, speaking volumes to its popularity and its longevity.

PlayStation 4 owners began experiencing poor wireless network connections as soon as update 4.50 hit the console last Thursday, complaining of little or no connectivity, as well as lag-related online gaming issues like rubberbanding. A retailer based in Kuruke, Fukuoka, Japan has come up with the confirmation that the end of March will see the end of the production of new products in the PlayStation 3 series.

PS3's predecessor, the PlayStation 2, ended production in 2013 after 12 years on the market.

He described Putin's comments as "very encouraging, going in the right direction". The work of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory and RUSADA was eventually suspended.

The PlayStation 3 has had one of the more interesting stories in console history. So, while some may lament the end of production for the PS3, it makes sense for Sony to focus its attention on its current slew of consoles on the market in order to maximize profits.

That's certainly true of the Sony PlayStation 3, which is finally meeting the end of its mortal coil.

PlayStation 3 was also the reason why I searched the internet to find a good website to keep me updated with news, reviews and features, so I also have PS3 to thank for bringing me to TSA and making lots of new friends. The launch model, early examples of which contained native PS2 emulation, was three years after launch superseded by a Slim redesign.

Much of that was down to Sony's outlandish starting price of £425 that more than doubled the £209 of the most basic Xbox 360 model.
