When is Lorde's New Album Coming? 'Green Light' Singer Reveals Release Date

Ironic, then, that the lyrics in her latest single, "Green Light", the first from planned album Melodrama, sound an bad lot like those of a typical pop superstar.

Anyway, Lorde revealed that she's really proud of the song in a new interview with fellow New Zealander Zane Lowe. She's already been rolling out tracks from the record in anticipation of its release, and on Thursday she unveiled her second new song in as many weeks. "And I think everyone knows what that's like, to just feel like a f*cking liability".

Although Lorde is busy making music, she will soon hit the road and make a number of appearances in order to promote her sophomore EP.

The song itself is a sorrowful piano ballad with an nearly sarcastically sanguine edge. She has described her new album as "what comes next".

Homeland Security Chief Admits He's Considering Splitting Children From Parents At Border
Mr Kelly assured Mr Blitzer that the children would be "well cared for as we deal with their parents". Kelly, speaking on CNN , said his goal is to try to keep people from making the trip at all.

Lorde sent fans on a lyrical treasure hunt, teasing them on social media, ahead of her release of Green Light.

Like "Green Light", this song is also co-produced with Fun's Jack Antonoff and it feels reflective of a new stage in Lorde's life and career. "It was just this moment of sadness and I remember it so vividly". "Liability" is a dark, somber consideration of the relationships we accidentally mess up; for Lorde, who has faced the stress of fame at a young age, there's a personal edge to the story. And it's gonna be... oh my God I can't wait for you to see it.

Lorde's Melodrama will be released on 16 June (17).
