Police Fatally Shoot Two Men In Separate Incidents In Brooklyn

Police say they believe Owens was hit by all three bullets, at least one of those shots hitting his chest.

Officers were investigating a report of a nonviolent emotionally disturbed person inside the residence when a man entered the kitchen, picked up a 13-inch knife and advanced at the officers, police said.

They said the man's sister had called the NYPD and told them he was acting irrationally.

A 63-year-old man was killed in a police-involved shooting after he approached officers with a knife inside a Brooklyn home, officers say. Police say the man was carrying a gun and firing shots into a lounge early Wednesday morning.

The officers exited their vehicle and identified themselves to the man, identified as Joshua Martino, 18, of Brooklyn, Monahan said.
